Downtown DC, being the Nation’s Capital, is a highly visited and densely populated area of the city and metro region.  City residents use the term for the area immediately north of the White House, south of Logan Circle and Dupont Circle, east of West End and Georgetown, and west of Mount Vernon Square. Downtown to many others is the general area surrounding the federal office buildings, the National Mall, Capitol Hill, The Kennedy Center and can include many residential neighborhoods as well.  Inhabited by museums, hotels, restaurants, and office buildings, Downtown DC is the central anchor point for the city and the Greater Washington Region. Downtown is easily accessible by a number of Metro stations. The walkability factor is also very high with many services, eateries, and businesses being within close proximity of one another.
